Prospect Interview Cheat Sheet

Below is a Cheat Sheet for all the things you will need to do when preparing and conducting your interviews!

Preparation

  • Prep Email - Have you emailed the interviewee
    • Confirmation and Reminder: Date/Time/Location
    • Format of the Interview
    • The Topics that you hope to cover in the interview
    • (if applicable) PDF on how to prepare for a zoom interview
  • Intro & Outro - Have you created your Intro for the interview? Do you have your outro scripted out?
  • Equipment - Camera, Tripod, Mic, Lights - Do you have all the equipment ready for the interview? Is it tested and working?

    Greeting

  • Ask them how they are doing today
  • Express your Gratitude, Appreciation, and Excitement
  • Ask them if they have any questions about the interview
  • Let them know the process for the Interview: Press Record → Intro → Questions → Outro → Stop Record → Talk about Next Steps
  • Get Setup
  • Ask them if they have a hard stop time
  • Ask them if they’re ready to get started

    Setup

  • Framing on Camera - Apply the rule of thirds
  • Test Audio & Video. Check Batteries. Check Storage.
  • Turn phone onto silent, do not disturb

    Press Record

    Intro

  • Be Enthusiastic, High Energy.
  • Promote them so well that they think (or say) “wow, thank you, that was a great introduction of me”

    Questions

  • Learn what they do, what they need, and what they like
  • Help them share their wisdom and expertise
  • Ask whatever you are genuinely interested in
  • Dig Deeper. Be Conversational. Ask them more questions based on what they say

  • Ask people to like, comment, share, subscribe, and check out your Parkbench site
  • Plug your real estate business

  • Explain what you’re going to do: Post it & promote it
  • Confirm that they’re going to promote this on their social media
  • Explain what Parkbench is going to email them: link to the interview, login information, instructions on how to use all the free tools on the platform to grow their business
  • Try to get the business to upload a New Customer Coupon & Reward for a Review
  • Plant a Seed about Real Estate
    • And by the way, before we wrap up, as you know I’m a local realtor, and just out of curiosity…
      • Do you have any questions about the market I can answer while I’m with you now?
        Where do you live?
        • How long have you lived there for?
        • Have you had any thoughts of moving?
      • Do you know the current value of your home?

  • Ask for Referrals/Recommendations for Interviews
    • Hey so before I leave, who do you know that might be interested in being interviewed and featured? Who deserves from free PR? Whose got a cool product, service, skill, or story to share?
