How to Create an Intro and Outro for your Interviews

To create a high-quality interview, you need a big, branded intro and outro. These are the things you say at the very beginning, and very end of your interview.

Having your intro and outro written and organized before your interview will ensure you come across as professional and prepared. It also helps set the right tone for the interview, and wrap things up smoothly.

Here are the points we recommend including:

Your Intro/Introduction To Your Interview:

  • Who you are and what you do, including your name, position, and brokerage.
  • Who your interviewee is and what they do, again including their name, position, and business name.
  • Finally, add in something great about your interviewee, whether that's an achievement they've had in business or something that sets them apart.

Here is a simple script to follow:

"Hey everyone, thanks for tuning in.
Welcome to another episode of (INTERVIEW SERIES)!
I'm (full name), Real Estate Agent with (brokerage name)
And today I'm here with (interviewee name)
(interviewee name) is the (position) at (business name) in (area name), one of the best (industry/category/type) in town!
Now, I’ve really been looking forward to this interview as (achievement or reason why they're amazing).
Thanks for joining me, (interviewee name)."

Your Outro/End To Your Interview:

  • Thank the interviewee
  • Remind the audience of who you are and what you do, including your name, position, and brokerage.
  • Include a call to action, providing the “next steps” for the audience. This could be about:
    • Being interviewed
    • Visiting the interviewee’s business
    • Or reaching out to if they’re interested in buying, selling, or investing in your area.

Here's a simple script to follow:

"(interviewee name), thank you so much for sitting down and being interviewed today.
It’s been great to learn more about your business.
And I’m excited about where it’s headed!
*PAUSE - Give them time to respond verbally or through their body language*
And for our audience, thanks for watching!
Once again I'm (full name), Real Estate Agent with (brokerage name)”

Your final step is to finish with your call to action:

Interview Specific:

  • “If you have a business, and would like to be featured, reach out to me today! See you on the next episode!”

Interviewee/Business Specific

  • “Be sure to visit (interviewee name) and (business name), they’re an amazing asset to our community. And always remember to shop local. Bye for now!”

Real Estate Specific

  • “If you’re looking for more information on buying, selling, or investing in real estate in (area name) be sure to reach me at (phone number) or (email address). See you next time!”
